I was so delighted when Vicky booked me as her makeup artist and hair stylist for her big day, but I knew I would need a team with me! To make the morning perfect, Vicky had invited 8 of her closest friends, including 2 bridesmaids to get ready together in London’s Zetter Town House and have their makeup and hair professionally styled.
I pulled a small team of makeup artists and hair stylist’s together, and the day got off a perfect start. Vicky was so chilled out and relaxed and was able to enjoy every moment of getting ready with her friends. Having scheduled each lady in for their hair and makeup the day went by without a hitch.
I loved the inspiration Vicky had chosen for her wedding makeup and hair and I knew she was going to look absolutely stunning. I chose the makeup products used based on their particular properties and individual result but also taking in to account Vicky’s skin type and the look she wanted to achieve. Here is a guide to achieving the look.
Using MAC’s Fluidline black track eyeliner, drawn thinly along Vicky’s top lashes created the appearance of voluminous and thick lashes. Black track has amazing staying power.
All the eyeshadow’s I used were from MAC. Vanilla was applied all over the lid to create a flawless base on which to apply the eyeshadow. Orb was applied from the lash line to the crease and a dusting of Nylon was applied in the corner closest to her nose. A mix of Wedge and Quarry was used in the crease to define the eyes. Brun was applied on the outer corner to increase the definition. And Orb was used as a highlighter on the brow bone.
Lingering brow pencil by MAC was used on Vicky’s brows to naturally define and frame her face.
MAC’s Golden bronzer was applied in an E shape: starting at the temples and working upwards and inwards, towards the centre of Vicky’s forehead, sweeping back down and across the top of her cheek, back again towards her ear and down and along the jaw. Bronzer can be applied all over the face and body but for a sun kissed look apply where the sun would naturally hit.
I used a mix of MAC’s Sculpt and Prism to define Vicky’s cheek bones and Mocha on the apples of her cheeks, making sure they were all blended together. Warm Light was used as a highlighter across the highest points of her cheekbone.
MAC’s Boldly Bare was used to line Vicky lips and I used lipstick…. the name has rubbed off so I’m not sure what it was called. It was a beautiful dusky pink!
Vicky has naturally think and beautiful hair which made my job easy!
The Finishing Touches…
The morning could not have been more perfect and I think you will agree, Vicky looked truly beautiful in her stunning wedding dress and veil.
